Type and scope of data collected

In principle, you can call up our Internet offer without providing us with personal data.  It is at your discretion at any time to decide whether you wish to provide us with your data. If you contact us via our Internet pages (e.g. catalogue or login enquiries), place orders via the Partner Portal or use other value-added services, personal data (mandatory information) must be provided. This data is your name, your address, your telephone number, your e-mail address and, if applicable, your billing data. The provision of further data is voluntary.

When you visit our Internet website, your Internet browser automatically transmits data to our web server.  This data includes the date and duration of your access, browser type, your country code and language settings. Furthermore, the website from which you visit us as well as the pages you visit on our website are transmitted. This data is stored exclusively in anonymous form and will at no time be allocated to a particular person.

Use of your data

We should point out that we use and process personal data collected via our Internet website only for the intended purpose and in accordance with the statutory provisions, in particular in accordance with the GDPR.

If you have sent us a contact enquiry and transmitted your data to us in the process, we use your data for processing and handling your enquiry, insofar as this is necessary for this in accordance with Art. 6 lit. f GDPR.

Should you have submitted an order or enquiry via our Partner Portal, we use your data in accordance with Art. 6 lit. b GDPR to the extent necessary for the processing of your order or enquiry.

The data and information transmitted automatically by your Internet browser is stored and used by us solely for statistical purposes regarding user analysis and user behaviour. Regular evaluation of the statistics on website access indicates the development over time of the visitor response and the differing success of our online services.  It forms the basis, among other things, for controlling the further development of the online services and the planning of new or improved strategies.   Such information is stored separately from the personal data provided by you. It is neither possible for us to allocate this data to a particular person, nor are any user profiles created.   Your IP address will only be saved in an abbreviated form and will be deleted immediately.

If we use your data for a purpose requiring your approval pursuant to Art. 6 lit. a GDPR, we will ask for your express approval in all cases.   Any approval given can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.  As far as the approval is given electronically within the framework of our Internet service, we take into consideration the statutory notification and recording obligations.

Your personal data is subject to the special protection of data protection laws, which we comply with through technical and organisational measures. Your personal data is stored on specially protected computers. Processing and storage of this data is carried out solely for the purpose for which you have entrusted it to us.

Our employees are committed to data protection.

Newsletter

We offer you the possibility to order our newsletter on our website. If you have given us separate consent for us to inform you by e-mail about our own products and services, they will be processed in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Your consent can be revoked at any time without affecting the legality of the processing that has taken place so far. If the consent is revoked, we will stop the corresponding data processing.

If you no longer wish to receive the newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time, e.g. by sending an e-mail to marketing@dieseltechnic.com or via the link to unsubscribe from the newsletter that you will find in every newsletter e-mail.

Recommendations

If you have a customer account and personalised access data, we record which articles you searched for and enquired or ordered from us, and also which articles you did not order or enquire about.  We use this information to constantly optimise our product range and to facilitate your future purchases.  However, we store and use this data only with your explicit written consent in accordance with Art. 6 lit. a GDPR, which we send to you at the time of registration.

Of course, you may revoke your consent at any time and with future effect by post or e-mail to:

27245 Kirchdorf/Germany
E-Mail: datasecurity@dieseltechnic.com

Note: Without your consent to the storage of corresponding personal data, the online services cannot be used, and all enquiries and orders must be made/placed via the conventional routes (Tel./E-mail).

Cookies

During visits to our Internet website, we sometimes use cookies (small text files) that are transmitted to your computer and which your browser saves.  They serve to make our service user-friendly, effective and secure.  Most of the cookies we use are "session cookies". They are automatically reset at the end of your visit as soon as you log out. If you terminate the session by closing your browser, the cookie remains stored for a certain time and is then either overwritten or deleted by the client.  Our cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain any viruses. The storage of cookies on your computer can be prevented by appropriate settings of your Internet browser. Please note, however, that the functionality and range of functions of our service may then be limited as a result.  Cookies are used by us only for the verification of input data from users, as well as for authentication and security purposes.  No data statistics are compiled.

Communication of data

For the delivery of products, we cooperate in part with distribution partners.  After entry of your contact data, a check is made as to who is responsible for you.  Should we not be directly responsible, but a distribution partner is to take over your support, we will inform you of their contact data immediately.  Furthermore, we will inform our distribution partner and pass on the data you have provided, as far as this is necessary according to Art. 6 lit. b GDPR for the fulfilment of your order or the delivery of the products.

Should you not wish your data to be disclosed to the relevant distributor, please inform us of this in your communication at the time of the enquiry.

In the event that DIESEL TECHNIC SE, companies in which DIESEL TECHNIC SE has a majority shareholding, individual subsidiaries or parts of the company are sold, your customer information will generally be transferred together with the part of the company being transferred.  Even in such cases, however, your data naturally remains covered by this data protection declaration and the relevant data protection acts.

Google Analytics

For the demand-oriented design of our online services, we create pseudonymous user profiles with the help of Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies that can be stored on your device and read by us. In this way we are able to recognise and count returning visitors. Data processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR and Section 15 Para. 3  German Telemedia Act (TMG) and in the interest of knowing how often our websites have been accessed by different users.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, because we have activated IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will previously be shortened by Google within Member States of the European Union. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA (an appropriate level of data protection is available according to Art. 45 para. 1 GDPR through Google's participation in the Privacy Shield) and only shortened there. We have also concluded an order processing agreement with Google Inc (USA) in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. Google will therefore only use all information strictly for the purpose of evaluating the use of our website for us and compiling reports on website activity.

You can object to the processing at any time. Please use one of the following options:

1.)    You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

2.)    You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).

3.)    You can also prevent collection by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie is set which permanently prevents the future collection of your data when you visit this website: Click here to object to the processing of your data by Google Analytics

YouTube videos

On our website, YouTube videos are integrated via iFrame, i.e. it is possible to play videos directly via the website that are actually stored on the YouTube platform. This results in a data exchange with the provider YouTube. YouTube uses cookies that belong to the company's advertising network and collect information about your visit to the website (Google DoubleClick Cookie). When integrating the videos, we have activated the extended data protection mode provided by YouTube in order to keep data exchange, at least when simply visiting the website, as low as possible. However, we still have no precise influence on the exact purpose and scope of data processing. If you wish to keep the amount of data transmitted as small as possible, we recommend that you do not start a YouTube video on this website. For more information about privacy at YouTube, please see their privacy policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

Shariff solution with regard to Data streams to social media channels

On our site the c't project Shariff is used to protect your privacy for the social media buttons. With Shariff, you can use social media without putting your privacy at risk. Shariff replaces the usual share buttons on social networks and protects your surfing behaviour from prying eyes. However, a single click on the button is enough to share information with others.
Background: The widespread share buttons represent a considerable data protection problem because they establish unnoticed contact to the servers of the social networks. For example, Facebook sends the number of "likes" directly to the visitor's browser and logs individual surfing behaviour.
Shariff works here as an intermediary: Instead of the browser, our server queries the number of "likes" - and this only once a minute in order to keep the traffic within limits. The visitor remains anonymous. Also, the displayed icons come directly from our server, so that no data is passed on to the developers of Shariff.

Deletion of data

Should your data no longer be required for the above-mentioned purposes, it will be deleted. If data has to remain stored for tax legislation reasons, this will be blocked.  This data is then no longer available for any other use.

Your rights as a user

When processing your personal data, the GDPR grants you as a website user certain rights, which you may assert at any time by sending a message by post or e-mail to:

DIESEL TECHNIC SE
Attn.: Data Protection Officer
Wehrmannsdamm 5-9
27245 Kirchdorf/Germany
E-Mail: datasecurity@dieseltechnic.com

1. Right to information (Art. 15 GDPR):
You have the right to request confirmation as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed. If this is the case, you have a right of access to this personal data and to the information specified in Article 15 of the GDPR.

2. Right to correction and deletion (Articles 16 and 17 GDPR):
You have the right to immediately request the correction of incorrect personal data concerning you and, if necessary, the completion of incomplete personal data.
You also have the right to request that personal data concerning you be deleted immediately if one of the reasons specified in Art. 17 GDPR applies, e.g. if the data is no longer required for the purposes pursued.

3. Right to limitation of processing (Art. 18 GDPR):
You have the right to request a restriction on processing if one of the conditions set out in Article 18 GDPR is met, e.g. if you have lodged an objection to processing, for the duration of any examination.

4. Right to data transferability (Art. 20 GDPR):
In certain cases, which are detailed in Article 20 GDPR, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request the transmission of this data to a third party.

5. Right of objection (Art. 21 GDPR):
If data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f (data processing to protect legitimate interests), you have the right to object to the processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. We will then no longer process the personal data unless there are demonstrably compelling reasons worthy of protection for the processing which outweigh the interests, rights and freedoms of the data subject, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

6. Right of appeal to a supervisory authority
According to Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right of appeal to a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of data concerning you violates data protection regulations. The right of appeal may be exercised in particular before a supervisory authority in the Member State where you are staying, working or suspected of infringing. In the federal state of Lower Saxony this is: The State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony, Barbara Thiel, Prinzenstrasse 5, 30159 Hanover, Germany.
